Yankees snow no life, fall again to Rays in Tampa

The effort put forth by Aaron Boone’s New York Yankees in Tampa Bay on Saturday was absolutely unacceptable. It’s that simple.

The Pinstripes were completely blanked by the Rays, who posted runs in the first, second, and third innings. The Yankees couldn’t touch a single one of Tampa’s six pitchers. They lost the game 4-0.

Whether Boone has lost control of his clubhouse internally is not yet known. But what the Yanks have put on display thus far and their yearly playoff disappointments followed by his pitcher smiling after giving up a walk-off ALCS deciding home run (2019) give us every indication that he’s not the right skipper for this ball club. If it doesn’t get turned around soon, when will it? The team needs to find their game and grab some wins soon. Otherwise, their hopes of a division win could be in some severe jeopardy as soon as next month. The lack of motivation once again seems to be an issue.

The Bombers look to avoid the sweep and take on Tampa in the third and final game of this set on Sunday, with first pitch at 1:10 PM Eastern Time.
