Nets Notes: Nets pull out win in tight affair with New Orleans

Without Kevin Durant and James Harden, a tall task met the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday night.

A tightly contested first quarter gave the New Orleans Pelicans the edge on their home court. The second quarter began with a three-point Pelicans lead (29-26). Brooklyn started chipping away and keeping up with the Pels, who entered halftime with just a two-point lead (59-57).

The second half was all Nets, though. Through thirty-six minutes, Brooklyn led 93-92. A close game remained intense in the final twelve minutes, but Brooklyn powered through and edged the Pels 134-129.

The names that jumped out in New Orleans on Tuesday were Kyrie Irving, Joe Harris, Landry Shamet, and Blake Griffin, who helped lead their group to victory. It is essential to keep rolling without two members of the big three. Holding their ground in the standings and edging out gutsy victories is imperative.

The Nets look to keep this momentum going in the second game of their back-to-back against the Toronto Raptors. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM Eastern Time.
